A healthy living environment

With the aim of preventing heat loss through gaps and cracks, many new homes today are almost hermetically sealed. But this often results in poor ventilation and can create indoor air-quality problems, including mould and unpleasant odours. Opening windows will obviously improve ventilation, but defeats the purpose of sealing the home to prevent heat and energy loss. What’s more, opening the window allows noise, insects, soot and airborne pollen to enter the home, and may also cause draughts.
